Back to the Future

Back to the Future is a 1985 film produced by Steven Spielberg, directed by Robert Zemeckis, and starring Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, and Crispin Glover. Michael J. Fox plays the character Marty McFly, a teenager who is goes back in time from 1985 to 1955. He meets his parents in high school, accidentally attracting his mother’s romantic interest. Marty must repair the damage to history by causing his parents to fall in love, while finding a way to return to 1985.
Marty meets Doc, played by Christopher Lloyd and Doc shows Marty a modified DeLorean DMC-12 which he has turned into a time machine, powered by plutonium which generates 1.21 gigawatts of power into a device he calls a “flux capacitor”. Upon hitting 88 miles per hour, the Delorean can jump to different time eras.
Eric Stoltz was originally cast to play the part of Marty McFly, but after a few weeks of shooting, Michael J. Fox was chosen as the perfect replacement. Due to Fox’s commitments with the TV series Family Ties, they were forced to do most of the filming at night, due to his schedule.
The movie was such a success that two more films were created, Back to the Future II and Back to the Future III making it one of the most successful trilogies of all time.
