Do you remember...

McGruff the Crime Dog

McGruff the Crime Dog

If you lived through the 80’s and don’t remember the tag line “Take a Bite out of Crime”, you must have been living in your own delusional world as the phrase was heard in television and radio commercials, on posters in and around schools and police stations, on police vehicles, and a lots of other places, but the phrase would have had little success without the mascot, McGruff the Crime Dog, who debuted in 1980. The bloodhound cartoon was established by the Ad Council for the National Crime Prevention Council to build crime awareness amongst children. His topics ranged from bullying to basic safety to drugs and alcohol to staying in school.

Remember kids, “Users are Losers”!
