Ken Griffey Jr Upper Deck Rookie Card
If you had a 1989 Ken Griffey Jr. Upper Deck rookie card in the 6th grade you might as well of had a brick of gold. This card was topping out between $20 and $30 in the early 90′s which was unheard of in the baseball card world. The Kid was on fire though and making baseball cool, so getting your paws on one of these baby’s took a lot more than giving some kick season tickets to your lunch. It usually involved something along these lines: Season tickets to your lunch + season tickets to give you wedgies + a Michael Jordan rookie card + $9 + tickets to an actual Mariners game to see Griff in person.
